Beginner Level

Open Water Scuba Diver

This entry-level course will teach divers the fundamental knowledge and skills to scuba dive and engage in open water diving activities without supervision, provided the diving environment, activities, areas dived, and the equipment approximate those of training.

Scuba Diver

Scuba Refresher Course

This is a non-certification refresher course aimed at scuba divers seeking to regain proficiency after a period of inactivity. This course offers supervised refresher experiences to assist divers in preparing for upcoming dive trips or other related circumstances. Completion of this course equips divers with documentation that can be used by dive guides, divemasters, resort owners, and other relevant parties to evaluate the diver's skill level and readiness for specific diving activities. This ensures that divers are adequately prepared for a safe and enjoyable diving experience.

Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx) Diver

 Enjoy longer bottom times and shorter surface intervals, all while experiencing the benefits of breathing enriched air. Elevate your diving experience and enhance your safety in the water. Join us and discover a new level of underwater exploration!

Advanced Open Water Diver

This continuing education course for certified divers is a program designed to introduce and aid divers in gaining experience in a variety of open-water diving activities. Participants will complete six dives; three must be in night/limited visibility, navigation, and deep (beyond 18msw/60fsw within recreational limits). Graduates of this course are considered competent to engage in open water diving activities without supervision, provided the diving environment, activities, areas dived, and equipment approximate those of training.

Rescue Scuba Diver

This continuing education course trains divers in the knowledge and skills needed to manage risks and effectively handle limited in-water problems and diving emergencies. The course will include the following: assists, transports, surface rescues and rescues from depth involving both boat- and shore-based skin and scuba divers. The course meets the prerequisite rescue training for NAUI Skin Diving Instructor, NAUI Assistant Instructor, NAUI Divemaster and NAUI Instructor certifications.

Master Scuba Diver

This continuing education course is for certified divers who wish to increase their understanding and enjoyment of diving. The course is a progression toward NAUI Leadership roles, and some subject areas are a review and expansion of materials from previous courses. Instructors will specify performance objectives for related courses diving activities and each subject area is a progression in study.

Divemaster

The NAUI Divemaster rating is the highest NAUI leadership level certification except for instructor. The program is designed to train experienced and knowledgeable divers to organize and conduct enjoyable open water dives for certified divers. If all other prerequisites are met, a current NAUI Divemaster is qualified to enter a NAUI Instructor Training Course (ITC).

Instructor

The NAUI Instructor Training Course (ITC) is designed to train and qualify NAUI Instructor member applicants. During the course, candidate instructors learn effective methods to teach skin and scuba diving in compliance with NAUI diving course standards. An active-status NAUI Instructor may independently teach NAUI sanctioned courses and authorize NAUI certification for graduates.
