Crystal River is one of the premier areas for recreational scalloping. Search the sea grass beds of the shallow Gulf for these tasty morsels. It’s an underwater game of hide and seek. Use your masks, fins, and snorkels to “hunt” the scallops, pick them up and place them in your bag. Remember they swim up or backwards when they sense danger (you).

We will spend over 4 hours floating around the sea grass beds for scallops. You can look for their “blue eyes”. You’ll dive down and grab them before they get away. Have a blast and bring home dinner too.

Crystal River Watersports will provide the saltwater license for the whole group. We will have 2-3 boats of about 6 people on each trip. All boats are private. Each boat can bring back a maximum of 10 gallons of scallops in shell or ½ gallon of scallop meat.

Cost:

$115 per Person – includes over 4 hours of scalloping fun with Crystal River Watersports. All private boats. Our group may have 2-3 boats in the same area for each trip.

**Does not include mask/fins/snorkels, scalloping gear, coolers, ice, lunch, water. Taxes and tips are not included. Accommodations the night before are not included. Make sure to bring a separate cooler or way to transport your catch back home. There is no age limit. Be sure each person is comfortable snorkeling and being on a small boat for 4+ hours.

Morning Charter

7:00 AM Check in at Crystal River Watersports. Have all your gear with you and ready to load on the boat. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen early and often.

7:30 AM – 12:30 PM Scalloping Charter

12:30 PM Meet back at Crystal River Watersports to divide up scallop catch

Afternoon Charter (if max capacity reached for morning charter)

12:00 PM Check in at Crystal River Watersports. Have all your gear with you and ready to load on the boat. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen early and often.

12:30 PM – 5:30 PM Scalloping Charter

5:30 PM Meet back at Crystal River Watersports to divide up scallop catch
